Your Parental Rights Being Fast-tracked to UN

Cloaked in flowery words and good intentions, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is no more than the Big Bad Wolf in disguise! A mere perusal of the document at the UNCRC website leaves one feeling (notice I used feeling, not thinking) that this is a very well-intended document that will help promote the rights of children. Afterall, who in today's culture is going to stand up and say they are against all of these things (peace, tolerance, responsibility). But the treaty is much more than a brochure on how to be a good global neighbor to children in distant lands. It will pose significant threats to parental rights in the United States, if ratified.

Whether republican, democrat, liberal, conservative, atheist, Christian, jew or muslim, you should be very concerned about this treaty.

As the current political winds go, the very socialistic nature of this treaty (using terms embedded deeply in social-justice teaching) it may be the in-vogue ideology. However, as the political winds change there is no changing the document or at least to do so is extremely difficult and will most likely never happen. With that in mind, the very loose language of this bill could come back to bite those who may favor it at this time b/c they think it makes America a better global citizen. But does it? We are good citizens to children around the world. Americans have fought against child slavery, child soldiers, even as private citizens we send our money to organizations that work in foreign countries to eradicate these cruel injustices. We don't need a treaty to accomplish any of this. Especially a treaty that would be superior to our constitution and severely limit parental rights.

If the state determines that the HPV vaccine should be required and you do not have your child vaccinated you could find yourself on the wrong side of the law and have your child removed. Being an unfit parent will no longer be the standard for removing a child from parents, a child can be removed if it is determined to be in the best interests of the child. But the UN or a judge will define what is best interest and before you think you can trust a judge to do this, you better get familiar with recent abuses by judges of parental rights. Also, consider this is a major shift from "innocent until proven guilty".

The UN Convention on the rights of the child is not something that will be easy to navigate around once in place, it's a huge step toward global governance. We will lose our rights to teach our children our values. How amazingly hyprocritical that many americans support this who also think it was a horrible atrocity that the American Indian was conformed to the white man's ways. The teaching of religion in schools (all schools) is against the CRC. The child gets to choose his/her own religion, therefore a parent is interfering by teaching his/her child a religion at home. The child may choose to worship anything he wants in your home. The child can associate with anyone he/she wants, even if you disapprove. Parents will have no authority over their children. Forget spanking a child for willful defiance, that will be against the rules too.

The best thing to do is to get educated on this. The American Bar Association is against it. Find out what groups oppose it and why. Learn more about this at www.parentalrights.org

This bill is being fast tracked and it is in the hands of Hillary Clinton last I heard. We don't want to let this get under the radar. Contact your senators and representatives in DC.
